Growing up my house, my grannie's house and other relatives always covered their walls in wallpaper. Usually iridescent and flowery this serial decor has resulted in a slight aversion to wallpaper for me as an adult.
Emma Hayes work has me second guessing this though! Emma Hayes designs textiles which include wall coverings and are like nothing I have ever seen before. This New Zealand based designer pulls inspiration from the surrounding environment and reflects that in her dreamy, water colour-esque designs. I love their abstract forms and subtle colours. The designs are soft but still create such an amazing impact. Gentle but bold, such a combination!
Hayes' designs are also avaialble in fabric, cushions and artwork. So if you're a little nervous about wall covering there's still plenty of options for having some of her incredible work in your life.
