Studio Proba was founded by Alex Proba originally of Germany but now based in NYC. The studio has a diverse portfolio of furniture and product design, graphic design and art. I am especially fond of the posters Studio Proba creates.
Her work is a mixture of delicate, x-ray-like images layered with colours and texture and sometimes offset with something completely diverse. I love the way worlds collide in her work. Some of her pieces are dreamy and serene while others are fun and quirky. He use of colour is fantastic and despite the content of her images varying drastically at times, her work as a whole coincides well together as a collection.
One of her ongoing projects I'm particularly fond of is 'Hers-A Poster A Day'. Proba has asked people to submit stories about a woman in their life that has in some way has had an impact on them. Each day she interprets a new story into a poster. I sent in a few words on how much I admire and love my grandmother and the poster she created was incredibly appropriate. The poster made my heart feel like it would beat out of my chest it was that perfect. It's such a great initiative to celebrate the amazing women we know. Send her your story via her website.
All these beautiful images are from Studio Proba website and are posters that are available to purchase as well.
