DIV. 12 is a Canadian based design collective that designs and manufactures all of its work in the Canadian prairies. The studio of designers works with private clients and design firms to create custom and bespoke pieces as well as a collection of their own designs.
DIV. 12 designs are minimalist and utilitarian while still elegant. Their use of tubular metals and wood create organic pieces that are modernist but also fun and approachable, especially when finished with one of their fabulous colours.
As a fellow Canadian it is especially nice to see design coming out of Canada that is designed as well as manufacturer there. I know it is hard to compete with the rock bottom prices of overseas manufacturers but in this current consumer climate, it's so critical to support designers that are proudly manufacturing at home base. I'm really looking forward to watching DIV. 12 continue to grow and create both within its own studio and within the growing and evolving Canadian design scene.
