Each issue of MacGuffin magazine is dedicated to an object that often gets overlooked. Previous issues have been dedicated to such objects as the sink and the window. This issue features the ball.
Rather than simply providing a history and make up of various balls, MacGuffin has explored how the ball is presented and has contributed to various things such as art, architecture, marketing and pop culture.
From the intense training of Wimbledon ball boys and ball girls, to the significance of the disco ball. From how the ballpoint pen was invented and the story behind those skeletal domes we grew up with in public playgrounds, MacGuffin has touched on it all. With all of these different stories you begin to see what a major role this shape has played so subtly in the background throughout time. I’m so intrigued to see what MacGuffin decides to cover next and I know it will blow my mind just like this issue did. Such an intriguing read!
